Arctic amplification
Polar amplification factor (PAF)
The PAF is computed as the ratio between the waring in
near-surface temperature (tas/TREFHT) over the Arctic (north of 60N)
and the global-mean warming.
Warming anomaly difference
Fields show the difference between the Arctic warming anomaly and the
global warming anomaly, computed from the near-surface
temperature. Fields are area-averaged globally. Solid lines show the
area-averaged mean values. Shading (currently only available for the
CMIP6 historical run) show the ensemble spread in terms of +/- one
standard deviation.
